I'm having the same issues as you, sounds like it just needs new solenoids.
I saw in another thread that you got a used unit for a good price, but I thought I'd post this anyways for someone who may have the same symptoms as us.
From shifting rough from 2-3 and 4-5 and clunking from 6-5 and 4-3...to failsafe messages to only wanting to ride in one gear and slipping while it was hunting for other gears...and not wanting to go into D or R, and not even moving if it actually engaged those gears.
